paperback01
This design is my interpretation of the classic Penguin colour-coded paperback designs. The orange coloured books were general fiction and other colours were used for different types of book (see below). I love the simplicity and restrained styling of the penguin books where the written content was enough to sell the books even though competing publishers were using louder designs with more imagery. This would work really well as a blog template. I hope to get a wordpress template of this done soon.
paperback01 red
This version is a red variation on the general fiction design.
paperback01 green
This version is based on the green crime fiction paperbacks.
paperback01 maroon
This version is based on the maroon travel paperbacks.
paperback01 blue
This version is based on the blue biography paperbacks.
BlueBar
This is one of my recent designs intended to be quite clean and simple but with a strong blue colour-scheme and a bold header area to catch the eye. This also features a nice simple hover effect on the header menu.

HardLines
I read on the Open Source Web Design Designologue that they were highlighting the need for gallery templates. So I decide to create something that was very subdued in order to let the pictures in the gallery really stand out. It also uses no imagery in the stylesheet so the pages should load that much faster.
FinestSilver
Clean and every-so-slightly shiny. I wanted this design to be really fine and crisp and then I had the inspiration to make some custom "silvery" icons to finish it off.
FinestCopper
This is a slightly warmer version of FinestSilver made using coppery colours.
